Completely uninstall Office 2010 with the easy fix tool, Restart the  computer,  Reinstall Office.

The screenshot shows the New Blank document template or is there an error when the user selects it?

Alternatively, has the user created a template but cannot see that new template?

The template has to be saved in the right place for it to be visible in the New file menu.

If you open a blank document and go to Save it. Choose "Word template (*.dotx)" in the Save as type options and the file path should change automatically to where the template needs to go. Mine changes to:

C:\Users\robert.henson\Documents\Custom Office Templates

We have a company Normal.dotm & some users template work & some don't?I've tried replacing the Normal.dotm with one that's works

in this location User\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates however it still hasn't taken effect?

Hi All,

This word template was being redistributed via a group policy that is linked to a mapped drive i unmapped the drive logged off & on. I then did a gpupdate /force.& then we were good to go.
