Locked out of Apple account - Why?

Locked out of my Apple account - Why?

I would much appreciate someone explaining why I get Locked Out of my apple account every few weeks.

Seems I have done nothing but work on my several Apple devices (iPhone, iPad, Macs) - sometimes a few are on together.

Then I have to scramble to access my Apple credentials - totally wasting time.

Is this a scheme of Apple to assure Apple product users are really who they seem to be?

This is really a pain!!

Whenever I have to access my Apple Account, I must provide the password (Windows Credentials appears to keep the user name or it is otherwise cached). But I do have to enter my password when I access the account.

So as far as I can see, it is situation normal.

From your viewpoint, agreed. However, I am asked to enter historical data that I can only partially retrieve - i.e.. email address which is longer active as a web site has been shutdown. I can surely understand entering a password, but traversing historical data is still a pain.  And there is no explanation for the reason the site service has been locked "For Security Reasons" is not, to me, a sufficient reason without detailed explanation about the "security Reason"

Again, entering a password is a reasonable and expected request. However, what are the "Security Reasons" for shutting down the site?? Their request for solution by email does not work as the web site (and email address) is shutdown.

As they say, "who d'ya call?"

Still a Pain!!
I am only using Apple services and my email address is the same, so then it would appear my situation is different than yours.

Thanks to all who contributed. Yesterday I called Apple & (after long discussion & exchange of credentials) was told I could expect email 24 hours later with login/instructions to effect update.

Anxiously awaiting Apple email...
