You have to first consider licensing. You cannot move the OEM image from one computer to another. Not permitted. <br />

If the prior computer is Retail Windows (unlikely) you can move with Clonezilla, Acronis, or Ghost, but you would need to be very concerned about BIOS, Chipset and other drivers. <br />

Best approach for sure - use the new computer as it came and install your software on it and recover your data to it.

The laptops are SO different (age) that, no, I do not recommend this. You will be bring over a host of incompatibilities and problems.
