if both your mouses are wireless probably you have interference issues...try either with a wired mouse or temporarily move your PC to another place...

Hi,

Have you tried checking device mangeer (Windows + R -> devmgmt.msc)

Check if your mouse appear under the "Mice and other pointing devices", if not, have you tried a different USB port?

Iam thinking it could be something to do with the extension socket
What extension socket?  A mouse works best with a direct connection.  Try a wireless mouse as they work well.

first pc win 7 now running win10   <-- Did you upgrade?   Upgrades from Windows 7 sometimes go wrong.

Run an in-place Windows 10 Repair Install.  Keep Everything so nothing is lost.

Go to the Media Creation Link

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

Click on Upgrade to Windows 10 (even if Windows 10 is running), click on the Download button, select Open (Run) but NOT Save. It is possible you may need to go to the download location and run the program - it depends on exactly what MCL does (it changes from time to time). Allow the program to run. Allow drivers to update. Then select Keep Everything.

 Probably Cable problem.
Common problems share a common factor...your extension socket you used on the old PC you still use it on the new PC...that's why you changed the whole machine and the issue persists...

Extension lead
and what is an extension lead Davy?  post a picture or model please
Sounds like there may be a USB extension cable involved.  Given previous experience with these cables and high-I/O devices like mice, that may well be the issue.
that's why i want more info on his setup
