Veeam backup

Hi,

Does Veeam backup support storage virtual machine (svm) backup? We have file shares (13 TB, via both NFS and CIFS) configured via svm in Netapp 8020 storage and can access from servers/clients using UNC path.

I have found the article "https://forums.veeam.com/veeam-backup-replication-f2/back-up-a-cifs-share-t8490-15.html" which says in Veeam B&R 9 we can select the file share UNC paths as source and do a file copy job. But this doesn't support incremental and full backup methods and we need to take a 13 TB copy backup daily. Is there any improvements in Veeam 9.5.

Could someone advise a more feasible solution to this.

I have used Veeam for Netapp CIFS backups in 7 mode but not in clustered mode. Typically for larger environments I prefer to use NDMP to backup Netapp NFS/CIFS volumes since it's the native protocol for these type of backups.

The link lists the providers that support NDMP, it doesn't answer your question but may perhaps give you some options
