Problems deploying VDP 6.1

Good afternoon,

I am trying to deploy VDP in my Vcenter Contingency and the moment to finish the deployment I get the following error message, preventing the installation.

Please check the attached file to validate the error.

Any comment on that.

Good morning,

I added a host that was not detecting the VDS, and could finish but at the time of OVA deployment, it reaches 4% and the following error message appears.

See attached file

I have a datastore of 2 TB or it is possible that the Ova is corrupt.

In the same way I am downloading another ova.
Yes, OVAs can be corrupt, rather than needlessly download again check the published MD5 and SHA1 checksums.

I've also noticed you are using the older legacy vSphere Client, this is no longer supported, try the Web Client. This is now the supported Management Interface for everything, including the deployment of OVF/OVA.

Good afternoon,

I proceeded to download another ODP from VDP to deploy the installation, however I would appear the same error, so I try to deploy the VDP directly from the server where I have installed the Vcenter, the deployment was a success.

At the time of entering the Browser to continue with the configuration of the same, in the registration part of Vcenter, which I give next, it indicates to me that please verify the address and my DNS servers and from there I can not continue.

Attentive to your comments.

Make sure you have valid DNS working to resolve forward and reverse lookups for your vSphere environment.

Good afternoon,

Also we created the DNS zones and the error continues to appear, we would have to validate if the DNS can resolve the searches in both directions.

What else could we validate to rule out faults at the DNS level.

something is not resolving hostnames correctly with DNS

Another question, when I am positioning the VDP address before deploying it in Vcenter, we arrive at a part where we must enter the DNS, the gateway, the subnet mask and the new IP address that will have my new VDP.

Is that same ip address that I put before the deployment, is the same ip that I should put in the browser browser to continue with the configuration?

Regards...
when deploying the OVF, that information is information which is specific to the VDP appliance e.g. what IP you want to set for the appliance.

later you will need to provide the vCenter Server hostname, so it can register with vCenter Server

Good Morning,

This is the error message, which appears in the VDP settings, when placing your IP address.

Additionally is there any way to know if the Vcenter ports were customized? The ports that should be used is the 8080 and 443?

Please see attached image.

not sure why you are using a mixture of IP Addresses and DNS hostnames, use ALL hostnames.

it cannot resolve the hostname you are using

Good Morning,

It would be necessary to create an alias at the level of the VDP server name, to validate if the error disappears.

It is advisable?

We have to create an alias at the level of the names of our VDP servers, once we do the tests, we will be notifying.

Good afternoon,

We proceeded to create an alias on the server and now we get the following error.

check that the hostname you've put in the setup box, resolves to vCenter Server.

Please post output here from another workstation, using ping and traceroute to the IP Address and Hostname.

A question vcenter 5.5 is compatible with VDP 6.1.4?
6.1.4 is compatible with vCenter Server 5.5 U3, U2, U1 and U0

Good afternoon,

We were already able to deploy our VDP in the contiguous environment, the problem was presented in the DNS since they resolved by name, but not by ip address. We solved the problem and finished the installation and configuration successfully.

Thank you very much for your support and suggestion.
