asked on

tomcat installation http free port

While installing tomcat how to know which http free port is free?8080 is always busy occupied by glassfish etc.

any tool or software etc which tells all free and occupied ports on my windows laptop to decide which port to allocate to tomcat?

what is ajp/1.3 conector port 8009 which shows while installing?
please advise

Why would you install more than one J2EE container on the same box?

what is your operating system?

if it is windows, you can use a free tool like

let me try that
how it works.
it scans and shows which port occupied by which server and which application?

not only tomcat other db servers like mysql etc occupies by default 8080, i wonder why?
