Windows Hangs after Update
I am running Windows 10 on a Lenovo laptop computer. I have Windows updates installed automatically. Last night when I shut down my Windows performed an update, and - in spite of rebooting several times - I am now having all sorts of problems. To start, when I open Windows Explorer it takes forever to load and then hangs near the end of the loading. My MS Outlook hangs during loading as well, though my other MS Office programs open fine (Word and Excel). My NERO programs don't open, nor does my PowerDesk File Management software or my GoodSync file synchronization software. Oh, it doesn't appear as though my Snipping Tool ... which I used to show you the point at which Explorer hangs ... worked. Please help!
I just noticed that while I was typing this help request my Explorer finally stopped loading and seems to work OK. As a test, I shut it down and restarted the program, and it once again appeared to hang during loading - obviously taking 20 minutes to load is unacceptable. And the other programs (most critically Outlook) still don't load at all.
UPDATE: Once the Windows Explorer finally loads all of the other programs seem to load just fine. So the problem seems to be how long it takes to load Windows Explorer.
Thanks,
Phil

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. My hard drive is fine (especially since it went from blazing fast to snail-paced slow overnight following the update). As for undoing the update, can you please tell me how to do that? And, if I undo it how do I get the necessary security and other improvements that are (presumably) included in the update? I've had Windows updates on automatic for decades and have never had this problem.

this is tricky.
Not all update may be causing issues, so the strategy here would be to remove an update one by one and then review if that fixes the issues, mostly Microsoft releases the fixed update in a couple of days later so you can try to install that update after waiting for some time.
for uninstalling the update please follow the post here.

Thank you!
You are very welcome and I was happy to help and I hope now all is well
the slow loading happens due to the slow Harddrive, so defrag the disk that may improve some hard disk performance.
