Office 365 Shared Calendar
I'm just looking for affirmation here...
I want to create a shared calendar and we have Office 365 and use Office 2016. So, of course, the first step in creating a shared calendar is to create an email account.
So we created a public folder mailbox in the Exchange admin center. We then created a Root Public Folder... I gave myself owner permissions.
Now I'm told that I need to go to Outlook and view Public Folders and if Public Folders isn't visible to give it a few hours. This makes sense as it's Microsoft and with Google it takes seconds.
Anyway... can someone confirm how many "hours" it takes until I can see Public Folders?
Thanks

Shouldn't be more than 30-60 minutes. Did you create anything beyond the public folder mailbox--add subfolders?

Just the public folder mailbox. I don't really understand the concept of the folder thing... just wanted to knock out a calendar that can be shared.

Thank you Todd... and you were correct in that it took about an hour to see it.
Glad to help.

Todd... if I may... I created the calendar and I see it in the public folders. I have owner permissions. I right-clicked the calendar and selected "Add to favorites" in an attempt to see the calendar in my calendar section.
Is this another thing that can take an hour happen?

Are you referring to Outlook or OWA?
If Outlook, should be immediate but may only be visible in the public folder favorites. Haven't played with public folder favorites before.
If OWA, should be immediate as well. But in favorites of the calendar section.
If you are having issues getting PFs to display properly, I would recommend contacting O365 support as there could be something else causing an issue.
