Corrupted iPhone backup

Hello,

I am trying to help one of my friends. He made a backup from his old iPhone using ITunes. Then when he bought his new I phone 7 the tried to restore the data from the backup but it received an error saying "backup is corrupted ".

Any idea what to do at this point ?  is there any tool that can fix the corrupted backup.  The old phone is gone i can't not create another backup. The only available backup we have is the one that says corrupted.

Thank you,

Disconnect the phone, remove the folder "C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes", and then restart the computer.

Now reconnect and authorize the phone and see if it recognizes the backup.

Thank you, Deleting that folder is going to delete also the music ?
No. That folder is the setup folder. So unless something is screwed up, it will not remove the music.

Move the folder to a USB Key just in case.
also he is using a mac to restore not a window computer. in that path you gave me for a Mac computer ?
No, that will not be the path, I am not sure what path for MAC.
ok so if you want me to delete the itune folder i need to know where to find it please ?
