How to uninstall SEP from SCCM 2012
Hello -
I am trying to uninstall Symantec Endpoint Protection and replace with new AV within SCCM 2012. I have the install application for Symantec and new AV. The Symantec application should have a uninstall switch, however not sure how to double check that with .exe I have for Symantec. I have tried to run uninstall of Symantec with Uninstall.exe however no luck. I have also tried to run a batch file from my desktop with wmic product where "name like 'Symantec Endpoint Protection%'" call uninstall /nointeractive, however no luck.

SCCM will automatically remove any other AV products, except when the removal is protected with password. Symantec removal can be protected with password, remove password from Symantec central console.
Use MSIZAP.exe. You can find the GUID in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWAR E\Microsof t\Windows\ CurrentVer sion\Unins tall

Hi,
Toni is correct. Don't reinvent the wheel - Endpoint automatically has removal code for all major AV vendors. If you have set an install password on the package though, it's not going to work. You either need to find out what the password is (if set) or msizap.
Have you tried creating the Endpoint package and pushing it out, and seeing what happens?

We know what the password is and I thought that SCCM will put in the admin password as it installs. My problem is getting the scripting correct. The .exe that I use to deploy the SEP package, I attempted to put in uninstall.exe and run the uninstall. I get uninstall fails within Software Center. Thoughts?
