Send a notification to certain staff when an email arrives in a shared mailbox without forwarding the message using Exchange 2010
We created a shared mailbox but we wanted to see if there is a way to send an alert or notifications to certain staff when an email arrives in that mailbox without forwarding the message.
I didn't see anything in the rules on the server or client other then text messages

Were using Exchange 2010 and I don't see any options to notify. I tried adding the secondary account in my client and doing a rule but the displayed alerts only appear for the default account
Hi Shaun,
Transport Rules was my first thought, but I could not see any way to do it.
Please can you walk through an example, as I would love to be able to do this too.
Thanks,
Alan.

Hi Alan
you can have a look at the following link, it will guide you with setting up the rule.

Hi Shaun,
I don't believe that can be done with Exchange 2010 - it requires 2013 or later, and the OP was explicit that they needed it to work on Exchange 2010.
Please correct me if I am wrong.
Alan.

EE requested assistance with closing this question.
I have never heard or seen any way to do what you want in Exchange or Outlook.
It is possible that there is some third party software that you might be able to slot in with Exchange or Outlook to achieve this, but I don't know of any personally.
Sorry not to be more help. I held off for 12 hours or so to see if anyone else had a solution, but not so far.
Good luck, and if you do find a solution, please do post back here with what it is so that others can gain from your knowledge too.
Thanks,
Alan.
