using the report manager URL you can check the permissions on the target folder that your trying to publish it to.
Click on the down arrow beside the folder and select security
then check that the account your using is granted at least publisher permission.

Hmmm.... I will check that in AM but I don't believe that is it I think the report I built is not being save into the database
OK I checked not sure what to check but folder said "Builtin\Administrators" and I gave it all permission - tried to deploy in visual studio
Build complete -- 0 errors, 0 warnings
------ Deploy started: Project: Adventure Works, Configuration: Debug ------
Deploying to http://programmer-pc/ReportServer
Error rsAccessDenied : The permissions granted to user 'Programmer-PC\Programmer' are insufficient for performing this operation.
Deploy complete -- 1 errors, 0 warnings

========== Deploy: 0 succeeded, 1 failed, 0 skipped ==========
not sure what who's permission to set\
inURL i tried uploading same report and it did and it runs
It would be the account you are connecting to sql with.
did you run the app as administrator when you started it (i.e. right click the shortcut and run as administrator)?
I wound up using SQL sa account and works - but not elegant
Check if built in administrators ysers are granted security on report database
they seem to but I set to run as sa and it works and good enough for me
I want to close question I can live with the way it is
Just get sure the user you were using is a domain user to access and run the report service from services.msc
