Quick Books

I have been running Quick Books -2016 Desktop for over a year. About a month ago I received this Error Message: Could not initialize properties.  Error 3371, Status Code -11118. Quick Books could not load the license data. This maybe caused by missing or damaged files.

1. I installed Quick Books on another machine with no problems.
2. Reinstalled on the "Problem" machine and received the same error.
3. Installed "New" version of Windows 10, on reformatted drive on "Problem machine" - received Error message 3371.
Not sure what to do next. Quick Books tech support guides don't offer assistance, without a hefty service charge

1. Have you paid for your QB Subscription?  QB is by subscription license now.

2. Is your company file on a server?  Rescan for your data file using the QB Server Manager on the server.

3. On the good machine, copy the Company locally to the good machine, open QB, navigate to the local file, and then File, Utilities, Rebuild. Let the Rebuild complete. Make sure you are working on a local copy and that the initial file remains in its location.

4. Copy the rebuilt file back to the server  (make sure you keep the old backup) and try QB again.

You should have at least 4 files in the Company file folder:  .QBW, .TLG, .ND and .DSN

When I purchased Quick Books, I paid one price. This is a stand alone version. Can I copy the "operating" files from the good machine to my machine which gives the Error Messages?

Once you do the rebuild, then yes, you can copy the company files to the other machine with the errors.

I am not sure where you are in the repair process at this point, but if the good machine runs QB just fine on the rebuilt file, then the issue is not QB at all, but an operating system or other problem on the problem computer.

Try a new, test, Windows User Profile (Account) on the problem computer, log into the new Windows Account and test QuickBooks.
