IMM on IBM Server - Orange ! on front of server

Bear with me because I am by far an exchange expert, I am an IT admin for an HR company who was brought in an don't know exchange well at all.  So if I use the wrong verbiage I apologize.

Last week on tuesday, we came to an outage on exchange.   We ran scans and found our database was corrupt.  We started a new database and ran the migration tool bringing over one user at a time, everything is back up and running properly now after the migration tool.  The old database is unmounted and only the new database is mounted and all users are connecting and running email fine.

Everything is back up and running fine but today, I noticed the orange light on the front of the server box (vmware servers) that has an ! mark in the light.   In VMware - Vsphere I found the below errors.   I was told I need to install IMM to get more details, and need to do it from the bios? but I am not positive how to do that?

I can not click to view more information in Vsphere so all I can see is what is in the screen shots below.

Thanks for the response, I was told about IMM by someone who works for an outsourced IT company, was just following up on what he asked me to say.

As for the bay's failing there is a red ! mark next to four different bays, so how do you know it is just the 3rd Bay?  not questioning you just asking for reference.
The four red ones are probably lighting up together to show which disks are in the same RAID (I'm only Guessing as I'm not proficient with IBM hardware, We use Dell only in our DataCenter).

I'd suggest you gather your IT Team after the non-IT team leave the office, take the server offfline and reboot it into the Hardware manager build into any server (What allows you con configure Raid and etc) most of them have the option to make the affected bay "blink" on and off to identify the failing drive. You will also need a drive of the same capacity, connection type and speed to replace the failed one (You can't RAID drives with different charectristics), it can be from any vendor however (For example, one Drive from Seagate and another from WesterDigital)

Hope that helps!
Thank You

If this is an IBM server then the server will already have an IMM. You will need to check on the server at the back to see if the IMM has a network cable plugged into it. If it hasn't got a network cable plugged into it then patch one into the network and it should recieve an IP from DHCP. You can then look in the DHCP console for an IP address with machine name IMM_xxxxxx.

Accessing this IP address from a webpage will display the IMM webpage.

However the next challenge is, has the previous IT admin left the passwords for it? if never configured, do you have the tag in which the password comes on? usually attached to the server.

There are also advanced features like Remote control which require a licence, but without this you can still see hardware status's
I will head up to the server room and look on the back for the tags with the passwords, I have verified that the IMM network port has a cable plugged in.   Would the DHCP console be on my AD server?
Possibly, however just run ipconfig /all from any machine on the same network.

It's worth noting that if you have a complex network with VLANs and you don't have DHCP configured in that VLAN. You would have to restart the server to configure the IMM with a Static IP address.
Ah so I inderstand that IMM is IBMs implementation of an IPMI, similar to Dells iDRAC, which is essentially the same hardware management interface I was talking about.
ipconfig /all  on my windows 10 laptop only gives me info on my machine, I don't recall ipconfig /all ever listing every machine on my network
The below is all I can find for finding the IMM address, but it's very hard to have down time on that server to take it down to this, so I am not sure when I will be able to do it, that's why I am looking for an easier way.

Obtaining the IP address for the IMM

To access the web interface, you need the IP address for IMM. You can obtain the IMM IP address through the Setup utility. The server comes with a default IP address for the IMM of 192.168.70.125.

To locate the IP address, complete the following steps:

    Turn on the server.
Note: Approximately 20 to 40 seconds after the server is connected to power, the power-control button becomes active.
When the prompt <F1> Setup is displayed, press F1. (This prompt is displayed on the screen for only a few seconds. You must press F1 quickly.) If you have set both a power-on password and an administrator password, you must type the administrator password to access the full Setup utility menu.
From the Setup utility main menu, select System Settings.
On the next screen, select Integrated Management Module.
On the next screen, select Network Configuration.
Find the IP address and write it down.
    Exit from the Setup utility.

Sorry, I probably didn't explain myself. You can use IPconfig /all to show you the ip address of the DHCP server.

Sorry I probably just read it wrong, I know our DHCP server IP, when I type it into the address bar of a browser nothing comes up.
No you need to login to the DHCP server.. via a remote desktop or Console of some sort and then open the DHCP console from Administrator tools.

In there you will see all the leases.. I'm assuming that the DHCP server is a windows machine?
Yes I did that before, but I see nothing for IMM in that list on the console
I replaced drive three after verifying in web bios it had failed, and rebuilt the new drive, and all is well.

Thanks
