Windows 7 not recognized on the domain

I have a windows 7 machine with a static IP but it's not be recognized on the domain? I'm stumped... I've tried taking it out of the domain and adding back in but no luck.  It's not even showing up in AD.  I have to add the machine manually on the domain.

Is there any error message in event log? Do you get confirmation like "Welcome to xXxX domain" after you try to add computer to domain? Have you tried to search domain using ADUC for your computer name? Any results?
Do your network adapter DNS points to your domain controller(s) IP address(es)?
Make sure that you have your DNS aimed to the domain controller.
Make sure that there's no intermediate routers/firewall that can be blocking the network flow to the domain controller. (f so create the rules in those to allow the traffic)
Make sure that windows firewall have the ports open in the domain controller. if not create the rules inside the windows firewall.
Make sure that there's no antivirus software on the server side that is not blocking in the incoming traffic from clients

Yes dns is correct and yes I get a message saying welcome to the xxx domain but it's not showing up.  It's the strangest thing.  There's no firewall it's off.  Yes I did a search for the machine but it's just not there.  I've added it but it's not being recognized.  If you do an IPconfig in cmd you'll see the IP and the domain but if you right click on the network card it's says not connected?  I can get to the machine remotely.
If you go to system properties does it show that computer is domain joined? What happens if you try to login to this PC using domain credentials? Any events in event viewer?
It works it's just not seeing the domain.  THe problem is I have websense and the user is being prompted to login everytime they open a web page.  that's not so bad except for the fact that's it's not taking her password.
Regarding domain search for computer account - did you change the find field to computers? By default aduc searches for users accounts, groups and contacts. Yes - i know its basic question but sometimes ppl miss that.
Yes of course I did.  I wound up having to manually add the machine to the OU myself.  But the Nic card isn't seeing the domain.  I've tried uninstalling the card and I'm wait on the user to reboot but the user isn't anywhere to be found.
Can you ping from domain controller this PC? Precreating computer account within AD before domain join can be an option but it may be also an strange issue with network card. Have you tried the same using wireless card - if you have coprprate wifi network?
No wireless for this however, I did try with my own account and I'm getting the same thing.  I'm going to take a trip over there in the morning and see what else I can figure out.
check DNS settings again.

try to 'find' another host using nslookup

# nslookup another.machine.domain.com

see if it works.

try to flush DNS cache

# ipconfig /flushdns

issues with domain are most likely related to dns.
- also restart the machine, go to safe mode and check domain settings there.
- double check NetSetup.log in C:\Windows\Debug just after joining the domain
- make sure computer name doesnt have funny characters, or even better, rename the PC with another temporary name and try to rejoin + restart
