That's a dangerous question. Office 365 goes thru office (word, excel, powerpoint, etc), Exchange Online, Skype For Business, Onedrive for business so the question It's a way too vague.

I think you are referring to the compatibility of Exchange Online (O365 exchange) with outlook 2010.
The answer is Yes with SP2 (Latest Service Pack KB 2687521)
With minimum required update from October 2015 PU KB3085604
and with the latest public update:  July 2017 PU KB2956078 & August 2016 PU for Outlook

It is compatible with Office 2016 and 2013 and I think Office 2010 as well. It is not compatible (so far as I know with Office 2007).

So I am fairly sure you are OK. I suggest you ask the agent that signs you up (or will sign you up) for Office 365.

Office 2010 is going out of support, so you do need to check.

Your question should be, "Is Outlook/Office 2010 fully compatible with Office 365?"

Compatible versus supported is a slippery slope.

Is Office 2010 compatible with Office 365 services?  Maybe, but with continually reduced functionality I don't know how much longer it will be compatible.  The info J0rt3g4 provided here will keep Office 2010 compatible with Office 365.

Is Office 2010 supported with Office 365 services?  While still in support until October 2020 for integration with on premises applications, Office 2010 has not been supported with Office 365 since it entered extended support in October 2015.

Review the System requirements for Office.

And the situation will get worse as Office 365 changes and Office 2010 no longer receives any updates.

Yes, Indeed it will get worse. So try to update your office, or just get o365 :) (Home subs take up to 5 people) if you need more you can get a enterprise o365) and if you need a trial I can provide it
