HTML links in Thunderbird

While sending HTML links to a relative using Thunderbird I discovered an anomaly or mistake or something?

The web page I wish the relative to access is

http://www.jawamarkt.cz/en/search/electr-ignition-set-12volt-top-price-

but if you place that in an email and send it the hyperlink turns into

http://www.jawamarkt.cz/en/search/electr-ignition-set-12volt-top-price  (the hyphen is still there but doesn't form part of the hyperlink).

So ...

Is this an error on Thunderbird's part or is there a reason for it?
Are hyperlinks in HTML allowed to have a hyphen at end or must they finish with a letter or number?

Hmmm

I'll go have a play.
Yep, that works.

Not sure why Firefox doesn't let the hyphen be part of the hyperlink though unless you go your way.
