ssrs web portal security

I have a web application that includes ssrs from sql express 2017 and using the web portal to deliver reports.  I have an ssl certificate for the site.  ssrs is using sql server user credentials.  The problem is that when I open the url in a browser I am prompted for credentials to sign in.  Is there any way to use impersonation or some other method to view the reports?  I am also using windows identity for my web application.

You may need to change the authentication setting in the server where SSRS is hosted

Yes, sir, that's what I was asking about.  I'm looking at the document in the link you provided, but am still unclear on this.  I am the server admin so it's not a problem to do the tasks, but I'm still unclear.  All sql server logins are sql users, not a/d users.  Do I need to create a windows user for this?  or can I use the sql server user?
Let me rephrase the question so it makes sense to me :)    How do I provide connection credentials to the report server from my web application?
How are you invoking the report server from your web application? Are you using ReportExecutionService class?
No.  The report server has a web portal:  /Records_sqlexpress.  When I try to hit that site it prompts for a username and password.  That's what I'm trying to set so that I don't get the prompt.
