Solaris 11.3 Install Fails To Load On ASRock Motherboard Z270 Extreme4

Hi,

Recently decided to build a custom PC to test and use for Fiber Storage.  I'm going to be using Solaris 11.3 as the main OS (If I need to go back a version that's fine too).  I'm having issues getting the OS to install.  I'm thinking it might be a setting in the BIOs that is effecting the install and/or CPU model.  I will list all the components that I have in the custom build and what is actually connected to rule out compatibility issues.  I will also list what I've already gone through.  I'm not a Solaris, Linux, Red Hat person so if you suggest to edit a config or change something I'll need detailed instructions on how to go about it if possible.  But I'm pretty sure I've almost narrowed it down to something in the motherboard in the BIOs or the CPU that is effecting the boot process.

What Happens:

- I've tried the following: Burnt a DVD with Solaris 11.3 Live ISO, Burnt a DVD with Solaris 11.3 Text ISO, Formatted a USB Stick to Boot Solaris 11.3 from the .USB file

When booting from any of these options listed above the initial booting of the OS freezes at a certain point.  When booting from the Live ISO, after selecting what you want to boot (in this case Solaris 11.3), it will change to a black screen with 2 lines of white text and a cursor and then freezes.  Before selecting Solaris 11.3 to boot, you can hit the "E" key to edit the boot file and this is where I've added a " -v " on one of the lines to see more output of where it freezes.  When booting from the Text ISO, you see GRUB 5,4,3,2,1 and then a black screen with 2 lines of white text and a cursor and then freezes.

I'll attach screen shots of the black screen and 2 lines of white text, what it also looks like when adding "-v" in the boot file of when it gets stuck, and what it looks like if it gets past where it gets stuck

I've tried changing some settings in the BIOS for Legacy Boot (I think I found the correct section for this and the options to change to switch it over, not 100% sure though).  Still same results.

After all this testing I decided to only have the necessary devices plugged in (Motherboard, Power Supply, DVD Drive or USB Stick for Solaris Boot, SSD Hard Drive to install OS on, no PCI devices, and a USB Keyboard)

I even decided to try to install Solaris 11.3 on my other main computer.  But this time I got different results.  I plugged the SSD Hard Drive into my other mail computer, left all the pci devices plugged in, booted from USB Stick for Solaris 11.3 Live ISO install, and it gets past that black screen with the 2 lines of white text, and I was able to install it on the SSD Hard Drive.  After I got these results I decided to take the SSD Hard drive and plug it back into the Custom Build PC and boot from the SSD to see if it actually would load now since I got the OS installed from another computer.  It gets to the Solaris white screen with red text and a spinning cursor right before you would log in and then freezes...So yet another fail.

I'm also adding a couple reference articles I found of sort of similar scenarios but not quite (might help to narrow it down)

Solaris is picky, you have to check whether the system you have is in the HCL
ASROCK is not one of those MBs.
http://www.oracle.com/webfolder/technetwork/hcl/data/s11ga/index.html

With Custom OS or any Commercial OS's always check their HCL for hardware to avoid a situation such as yours.
nice system but you should have consulted the HCL which is unfortunately hopelessly out of date
from my research
first try and disable the wireless, Thunderbolt3, and Bluetooth 4 devices via the BIOS and BiOS Vt-d setting is enabled;

glad to hear, it worked out.
grub is the bootloader.
the HCL is not 100% coverage of all devices, mb on which Solaris can be installed, it is a list of resources where Oracle will assist/support if issues arise.
