SPF Record check
A client's email can't reach our server due to SPF record check.
xxx.com does not designate permitted sender hosts
The client's SPF is
v=spf1 a:research.tenxxx.com include:spf.protection.out look.com include:spf.zixxx.com, include:servers.mxx.net -all
Is there some wrong for the record ?
Thx

Hi,
Based on what you have provided, nowhere does it appear that the SPF record allows any designated senders for xxx.com
research.tenxxx.com (for example) is not xxx.com.
However, I guess you have obfuscated the strings for privacy, so it is hard to tell for sure.
Hope that helps,
Alan.

No, that's implicit because this is the record for xxx.com.
Hi Marcus,
Maybe I am misinterpreting, but I would have expected to see, for example:
mailserver.xxx.com
Alan.

The SPF record is in the domain already, and it lists hostnames, IPs and other SPFs that are allowed to send from that domain - the domain itself doesn't have to have its own mail server - for example it's common for a domain's email to be sent/received through gmail and nowhere else - though of course it can.
Okay - I see what you mean.
I should have looked more closely - I guess they are using Microsoft for most outgoing email.
Ignore my comment above - its late, I should go to bed :-)
Thanks,
Alan.

A client's email can't reach our server due to SPF record check.Do you know what the sender host is? If it doesn't fall within the scope specified in the SPF record then you would expect this error.
xxx.com does not designate permitted sender hosts

Can I say the SPF Check will check IP / SPF record for the following items ? If the sender IP doesn't appear in the record, it will reject the mail, correcdt ?
