Device lockdown using VLAN seperation
I want to secure my network down by splitting up devices into seperate vlans so that they are inaccessible to each other but they can all access the internet on one port situated on the default vlan.
My setup is as follows
HP 2524 switch connected to a virgin router via CAT 5 on port 13 to the internet. The virgin router has an IP of 10.168.0.1
SWITCH CONFIG
(Vlan 1 Default) Port 13 = Connection to router
(Vlan 5) Port 4 = Connection to Device 1, no ip on vlan, static ip on device connected is 10.168.10.10
How do I get the device on vlan 5 to get out to the internet on vlan 1 ? I want my device to be on a seperate subnet and to be invisible to other devices.

it sounds like your Virgin router isn't capable of handling VLANs. Is there a way you could get yourself a VLAN-capable router, and have the Virgin router act a bridge?
