moving files from pc computer to Macbook
A customer of mine has purchased a new Macbook Pro and wants me to move all her files from the pc over to the Macbook. I have never done this before. Will the format be compatible with the Macbook? is there a conversion process that must be done first?
And what about her quick-books files. On her pc she had the desktop version and now she is switching over to the online mac version. Is this something that Quick-books support will have to help us with?

we transferred everything over and it all worked ok except that now we are having an issue with quick-books. She had quick-books 2017 on the pc.
We attempted to transfer the file into quick-books online and then found out that the payroll information would not transfer. So we downloaded quick-books 2016 as we couldn't find quick-books 2017 for mac and when we attempt to open the files in mac quick-books it just says an error has accurd. Evidently the quick-books 2016 won't work with the newer files.
Or is there a quick-books 2017 for mac that we don't know about?

Only for QB Desktop. There is a MAC Online version if desired.
There is a :Quickbooks 2016 for Mac.

Yes BUT if the files were loaded into QB V2017 for Windows, that will not work.
You can convert the files.

The reason to use the desktop version is that you will own it. The online versions are licensed only and must be continually paid or you'll lose access.

We got the file converted and transferred to the mac, but the customer came back this morning with a new pc laptop. She said it just was not compatible with what she was wanting to do in the line of business that she was in. She just could not get her quick-books to run correctly in the Macbook. She is wanting me to transfer her quickbook Files into her new laptop

You are very welcome and thanks for the update. If you need further help, please ask another question (post a link here)
Macs are nice for the home user, but they're just not ready for the corporate world.
For QuickBooks for Windows, make a Backup in QuickBooks. File menu and make a Backup file (QBB).
Now move the file to the MAC, open the QBB file and choose Restore. That will do it.
