Windows Server Standard 2016 and Quickbooks Enterprise

We have a client that has Windows Server standard 2016 and requires Quickbooks enterprise setup.

The challenge is they have an all Mac environment. Possible and hopefully going to Windows.

Is it feasible with the current setup that we can install Quickbooks enterprise for 8 users and have them remote desktop into the Windows server to use the software?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Feasible, yes. But last I checked, not yet officially supported on 2016.

Yes, but you must use Terminal Services for this and that will work. Do not just use a standard server setup. That has never been fully supported by Intuit.

OK if I did want to do it with terminal services do I require additional licenses? What is the set up process?
Cliff GaliherCommented:
To be clear, when I said it isn't supported, I wasn't implying to try without RDS.  QB-Enterprise isn't yet supported on 2016 *with* RDS. Intuit has been slow in that. 2012 R2 is the highest supported RDS  platform. And while I havent specifically heard of problems, and have even run it on 2016 in a lab, I never recommend running production workloads on an unsupported configuration. Thus my answer that it is feasible. But not supported.

Licensing. RDS CALs in addition to normal server and Windows CALs. And comply with intuits licensing, which i believe is also per user on a subscription basis for enterprise.

Setup. Intuit fully documents that. There asre multiple topologies so pick what fits your needs.
