How shoukd I be stacking my Meraki switches

So I have always used Cisco with 10GbE stack cable's where you stack each switch to the one below and the last to the first so if an individual switch goes down the rest of the stack stays up.

I am now looking at a Meraki setup where we have a small stack on several floors going back to two switches that have the external connections. 1Gb is fine here, I don't need the 10Gb as this is just for desktops not servers.

The two switches have SFP to the first in each switch stack, the first switch then has a copper uplink to the other switches. This seems odd to me.

I would have thought that I should copper all the switch stacks from first to last and then the last in the stack copper to the next switch stack. That way all stacks have the SFP for normal operation but can fail to copper to the next switch I the stack up or down and the stack can fail across to the next stack if the SFP switch goes down.

Right and this is what I have done in the past, however I have each stack connected by fibre to the main firewall switch. can I still do this with copper or will that create a loop?
