Alternatives to WeTransfer for Self-hosting

We are looking for a self-hosting alternative just like "WeTransfer"

If it could run on a linux server it would be great. (Windows Server is also OK)

We would like the service to be hosted at our servers, because there could be some critical data between.

The thought was :

Enter the URL
"Press here to upload a file"
Upload
Now it generates an unique URL, the costumer can send out via an email.

I Found this http://alternativeto.net/software/wetransfer/?platform=self-hosted
But would like to hear something you could have any experience with.

We are willing to pay for the software, but open source would be great too.

https://wetransfer.com/ is simply a file transfer service.

If appears all they do is form a connection between two servers + transfer files.

Just user rsync for a self hosted option.

In my private hosting business I transfer many Gigs of data ever day between machines as part of backup procedures.

The rsync program forms the backbone of all my operations + most other peoples operations every where.

David Favor - i already wrote in #0 about wetransfer.com.

We need a solution just like "WeTransfer", it should just be hosted on our own servers.

I am simply looking for a file transfer servicer, that can be hosted at me.

I have contacted Pydio and ProjectSend.

Any other recommendations ?
I suggest https://www.Sendgb.com It's free service for file transferring up to 4GB without login. Sendgb is available in multiple languages. Files are automatically deleted after 7 days. At the same time, 500 files can be sent up to 20 recipients. If needed, the files are also deleted after being downloaded. For users who care about security, there is also the option of specifying a password at the time of sending.
An important difference that distinguishes SendGB.com from similar ones is the file upload speed. Users are not limited to uploading and downloading files.

Shared files via the cloud is not a possibility.

We can not have theese files on a server we dont host.
Rereading your question. Maybe some clarification is required.

If I understand, you're just trying to migrate a single site from one hosting company to another.

If this is correct, then how you do this will depend primarily on your current hosting company (where site currently runs).

You say you're running Linux, so there's no requirement to pay for a solution.

There are two primary ways to migrate a site.

1) Copy over the files from one machine to another using rsync or sftp.

2) If there are databases, then how you do this depends on type of system you're running. If you're running a CMS, like WordPress, use a backup plugin like Duplicator or BackupBuddy.

If you have custom code, then likely best to just use phpMyAdmin + pull a copy of your database using the Export SQL function.

There's no reason to purchase any file transfer software.
_______

Or maybe you run a hosting company, as you say run many servers.

My business is high traffic, high speed, WordPress private hosting.

I use rsync to manage this process as it's the most efficient.

I do nightly clones, to maintain at least one live spare (running site) backup + 30 days file backups.

You're welcome to PM me + I'll drop you my Skype ID, if you'd like to walk through optimal ways to do this, based on more detail about your specific runtime environment.
