network drives periodally "locK" show red x's.. One Workstation out of 50+

I have one workstation on the domain (with 22 others), that allows its user to log into the domain, has full internet access, that periodically the network shares become locked, with red x's on them, simply logging out and then back in appears to correct the problem, but it returns later, sometime very soon (same day) sometimes days later.

I have removed and replaced the system on the domain.
Its network card settings are the same as every other machine. (Using Static IP numbers)
all of the workstations are identical in terms of type of network card and software (W7Pro)
I have removed and reinstalled the network card software.
event log indicates that the network connection just stops.
it is not allowed to go to sleep

Is this happening in times of the computer being idle? If so, the power management options for the NIC may simple be turned on right now. The computer will turn the NIC off if it's inactive long enough to power save.
Agree with William. Try making sure that your OS power scheme doesn't let it turn off the NIC at idle. Some hardware actually has something like this in the BIOS too so look there as well.

I will check the BIOS (I have one of these machines in front of me), I already checked the NIC Settings.  and Power features are disabled.
One other thing .. sometimes we forget this .. it could be a physical problem outside of the PC. The cabling could have a problem or a port on the switch where this PC is plugged into. This kind of thing happens all the time with cables (people step on them, jiggle them, there is electromagnetic interference somewhere along the path) .. but in your case, you only have one PC affected, so start at the PC and work your way back to wherever it gets its routing, physically checking every cable and switch port.
i WILL LOOK INTO THAT.  oops caps...we did just replace the switch, the problem was previous to that, and continues so I think it is safe to say the switch was not the issue, and I have replaced the patch cord from the panel to the switch.  that leaves about 200 feet of cable back to the gentleman's office....I do have a tester that does the simple four lights green test, which of course checks out.  Wire shark maybe at this point...
