Did this computer ship with windows 10? if so, you are going to have a hard to getting windows 7 to install. Make sure you turn secure boot back on.
You can download the installation media directly from microsoft for windows 10 here:

You can take the ISO file you download and extract it and copy it directly to a flash drive. Then you can boot via UEFI to the flash drive. It will install about 1000x faster from a flash drive rather than a dvd.

Yes but ideally not via a USB3 port if you have a choice
The error is likely to be down to one of two issues:
1) USB3 connection is not supported correctly with Win7 installation DVDs
or
2) Your partition structure on the drive isn't standard and so not understood by the installer - if you're happy removing the recovery partitions and any other data you can use DiskPart to correct this.

Download the ahci, raid drivers from hp support for your system expand the drivers, save them to a USB stick.
Insert the USB into the hp before booting, f6, you'll see a point during the load, install that you can load drivers, at this point navigate to each raid, ahci one after the other and include the Windows 8 drivers, at this point, your install shoukd go through without an issue.
Yes, you can include other is based drivers ....... Windows 8,7 make sure to use the same version in terms of 32,64 as the Windows 10 you are installing.

If your corrupted system can still boot, an option you could try is run the setup from a booted system, to see if you could tell it to install anew wiping the existing data.....

Thank You for your exchange.
You are very welcome and I was happy to help you.
Is your recovery partition intact? You may still be able to factory restore the system by holding down F11 while switching on the power.
