I have an HP Proliant DL380 gen4 server that won't turn on.
When I apply power all that happens is the fans run on both power supplies and the series of led's on the center of the motherboard turn on for a while and then cycle off one at a time. There is absolutely nothing else that will start. I can't even push the power switch on the front and get anything.
I have reset the riser card, the memory, the processors and installed a blank hard disk in bay"0". Nothing works. Ideas for troubleshooting would be appreciated.

That server was made for Windows 2000 and 2003. If memory serves that's a 32-bit machine. Your most likely issue why it won't boot is that it's too old and it's time to replace it.
You're talking about a machine that's around 17 years old.

I take it that you also don't have any more of the power supplies for the G4s handy? Cause you could just try another PSU in case those two are fried.
What OS are/were you running on it?
Is it possible to hook a monitor up? That will show you what is happening in the power up tests. If it doesn't get that far than chances are the motherboard is the problem.
You can try minimal configuration, starting with 1 processor, 1 dimm, 1 power supply and take out the riser card to test each component. You can also unplug the drive cage. You should focus on getting the display to turn on and at least be able to go into the BIOS screen.

I downloaded the troubleshooting guide and will proceed with that process. I am going to remove everything and reset it all. I will post results here when this is finished tomorrow.

After much checking and trial and error I have found a dead motherboard and one power supply. This dictates a server replacement and I do thak everyone for their input and help.
I suggested a server replacement.
