Should the autodiscover URL be the same as your OWA link?
hi guys
We have an Exchange 2010 environment.
So i'm trying to resolve an issue with one of our Exchange servers at another site. When people put on the OOF, they get an error 'your automatic reply settings cannot be displayed because the server is currently unavailable. Try again later'.
So I ran a Get-WebServicesVirtualDire ctory |fl identity, internalurl, exter nalurl and I can see the results of the Internal/External URL's are not the same as its OWA link. I'll have to fix this I believe, which apparently will resolve the OOF issue.
However, I am reading that I also have to change the autodiscovery. As it stands the Autodiscovery is also pointing to the same internal/external URL as the result I get in the above. However, when people set up a new email address, you can go to Outlook and it discovers the mailbox etc, so that part seems to be working? Hence my question, how do I know whether I have to 'fix' the autodiscover? If it does have to be fixed, should it be the same as the OWA domain link?
Thanks for helping

Thank you sir
Anytime. Glad I could help.
I may be misunderstanding, but if autodiscover is working, then there is nothing to fix?
