Issue with Adobe IndesignCC on a MacbookPro

Morning all!
I'm an IT technician for a company, and one of my colleagues who is a graphic designer is using a MacBook Pro which is quite new, as in bought only earlier this year.
Yesterday she wanted to to work from home, so I helped to set up the network drives so that she could access them remotely providing she had an internet connection.

At home however, every time she attempted to save her document on this programme, the programme shut down unexpectedly.  Upon restarting the program, it showed the name of the file with (converted) at the end.

This ONLY happened when she was attempting to save. This morning, upon returning to work, she has been able to save without issue.

Any ideas?

Also, she has checked and there are no updates required.

Personally I'd not be recommending you work on InDesign files over an Internet connection it really isn't ideal.
By all means it works fine on a LAN with an Ethernet or even WiFi network connection but working remotely on an mounted WAN network drive is asking for trouble.
The [Converted] extension is added to a filename tends to happen when files are opened & changed from different locations and filepaths are affected so it would point to some issue whereby the MacBook isn't properly mounting the remote drive the same way it is mounted when they are in the office.  This article has a better explanation of the whole InDesign file format which is quite complex

Another solution is to have some kind of sync process to copy the file (or project folder) to the Macbook and sync back to the network drive when it is modified/saved.   There will still be path issues with linked files which you need to be careful with.

Hello Eoin,
 Many thanks for your reply.
So my colleague was connected to her wifi at home. However I have a feeling that the document was saved on the shared drives, which she had to connect to over the SSL remote connection. I imagine a combination of these two is what you are referring to.

Do you have any recommendations for a good sync program for a new macbookpro?

Also, the program would unexpectedly close simply when she tried to save, regardless of where she was trying to save it. I suspect though that such a thing is a different issue.

The networks drives can only be mounted the way that they have been mounted. We had to call into an external support company who set it up. There are no other ways to set it up under the umbrella of our network. I'll check the settings though to ensure that it continues to source the files from the same file source. I'll try that for starters.

Many thanks for your response and for your help.
