Why does my computer not boot?
I used a USB stick that was previously created to allow recovery to boot my computer. When I removed the USB stick and tried to boot the computer, the following message appeared:
"File: BOOT\BCD
Status 0xc000000f
An error occurred while attempting to read the boot configuration data"
I do not have the original Windows 7 Professional 64 bit disk, as it was not supplied by Dell when I bought the computer.
Please help ASAP, I am desperate!

do you see the installed internal system harddrive when viewing through the bios? Download the diagnostic tools from the manufacturer of your internal drive. Not ready means the drive is having an issue ....... Potentially dying if not dead.
in addition to the above suggestion, Double check the SATA data cable to the drive is firmly connected to it, and the SATA motherboard connectors.
And also power cable to the drive.
Or try using a different SATA cable with the drive.
if there was a Windows 10 OS previously installed on that PC then try to delete everything on that HD and just make it to unallocated space and try to install Windows 7 again.

Still sounds like you have a removable device trying to boot, CD / DVD perhaps?

I was able to us the USB stick to boot into windows repairs and it fixed it automatically.
ASKER
bootrec /FixBoot
bootrec /ScanOs
bootrec /rebuildbcd
When I run these from the command prompt, it says:
The device is not ready.
