how to backup the default calendar that is builtin win 10
Hello everyone,
I need to backup all the appointments that are recorded in the calendar that comes with windows 10. This is a local calendar that comes by default in any windows 10. My friend is asking to make sure that in case of something happen she has a backup.
she uses a local account to login in her desktop. What free program can i use to accomplish this? in windows there is a free backup software called backup and recovery...will that backup that calendar ? or it will backup only the data ?
Also, that calendar is part of the settings or it's just an application ? If its just an application do i need to find a software that backup application ?
PLease help
Thank you

You can keep her on the local account and just add the microsoft account to it. Go to Settings, then Accounts, then App Accounts and add a Microsoft Account to her local account and it should let you start syncing things.
That said, if you want to migrate her over to a Microsoft Account, it's possible to do so, and there are utilities that should assist in doing that. ForensIT's Profile Wizard is a good one that should more or less automate things for you.

No no .. the simplest way. If I can create a Microsoft account and then the two account will sync i am done!!
I don't even need to backup anything....
Question: after I created the Microsoft account, which account she will use to log in in her pc ?
Also creating a Microsoft account and start syncing things won't delete all the appointments hay she already have in her calendar correct ?
Thank you,

Thank you,
Just did some testing with this. It looks like the calendar will only sync if it's tied to a Microsoft account when created. Adding the MS account after the fact doesn't seem to work properly. The Windows 10 Calendar is a "Metro" App, so it functions a little weird. I'm not 100% sure that creating a new profile will get the calendar info syncing either.
What you can do, though, is copy c:\users\<username> to a backup location on a regular basis. The calendar is stored in there somewhere, though I don't know how or where it's stored.

Right now se has a local account, I need to create a Microsoft account and sync the two ? The local with the new one Microsoft account ? How can I do that ?
Once she has the Microsoft account as you said there is no reason to back it up because t will reside on the Microsoft servers and I will always be available correct ?
Thank you ...
