What are the Pros and Cons of joining domain

Dear Experts, we are having 300 PCs in workgroup environment and thinking of joining a domain.

What are the Pros and Cons of joining domain ? We have this question since everything in Workgroup has worked fine for more than 7 years until now.

If you had a smaller environment probably we could take a long talk but in with such size i think that AD is one way...but you are the only one to take the decision..

Central management. Just for it is worth of joining domain. For a user there is no difference but for system admin yes.
You could combine depending Linux samba4+openldap as a DC .........
