Disable Dirsync

Hey Guys, If i disable DirSync using the PowerShell Command:

Set-MsolDirSyncEnabled -EnableDirSync $false

from here: https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Turn-off-directory-synchronization-for-Office-365-ee5f861e-bd48-4267-83d1-a4ead4b4a00d

Will it reset any users passwords ? I know that those accounts will be converted to "Cloud Only' (no data deleted).

Thanks,
Robert

Thanks for your help guys. I was really only concerned about the passwords because the customer has no cloud mailboxes, only uses O365 for Skype. in so far as AD Connect is concerned the customer installed it, sync'd everything and then decided he didn't like and just trashed AD Connect.

Then they were unable to log on to skype with a user account that had been sync'd AND NOT provisioned before ad connect was trashed. However previously created and provisioned Skype accounts worked and manually added (cloud managed) skype accounts also worked.

So disabling Dirsync on the customers tenant seemed to be the least intrusive step to take while still gaining the ability to have those previously sync'd (but not provisioned) users able to access Skype. When looking at the Skype admin console i could see that Sync'd user accounts were not being provisioned (due to all of the above).

Here is a link on the skype account issue: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/3063407/new-office-365-users-are-not-provisioned-for-skype-for-business-online
