Gaming is a drag on CPU resources and an i5 is more general purpose. That is why I say i7 now.<br />

If your current board works well enough and will support an i7 (if you so wish) then by all means use it. <br />

I would only be changing a board / computer if I need the capability now. Otherwise I would use what I had until a yet newer product came out.
