MSI Z170A GAMING PRO or MSI Z270 SLI PLUS

Hello,

I'm thinking to buy one of those 2 mobos:

MSI Z170A GAMING PRO
MSI Z270 SLI PLUS

I can't find a big difference between them although the price difference is around $30, can you enlighten me if there are something I'm missing?

I'm upgrading from MSI H170 Gaming M3 to a motherboard that supports SLI.

Processor: i5-6500 (Going to upgrade to i7 later)

Best regards,

First of all, thanks for your reply.

I already checked those links before I ask the question and I can't see any difference except the VR ready and support for 7th generations of CPUs, so, does that count as a huge difference and should I go with the Z270-SLI PLUS or no?

Why should I get an i7 now and not later?
Gaming is a drag on CPU resources and an i5 is more general purpose. That is why I say i7 now.

does that count as a huge difference and should I go with the Z270-SLI PLUS or no?  <-- I would say different enough and got with the 7270 board.
Thank you.

One more question, do you really think that I've to change my current motherboard (MSI H170 Gaming M3) or what I have is enough for now?
If your current board works well enough and will support an i7 (if you so wish) then by all means use it.

I would only be changing a board / computer if I need the capability now. Otherwise I would use what I had until a yet newer product came out.
Thank you, I really appreciate your answers.
Thanks for the information you gave me.
You are very welcome and I was happy to help. Good luck in your choices.
