Setup Ad/Email Account

So we have a support account, support@domain.com.
This being the domain within an On prem AD synched to Office 365.

Recently we purchased another company of which have a support address.

We have their domain incorporated in Office 365 and can add smtp addresses as aliases in attributes.

However I need an account support@newdomain.com.
AD will not let me create as complains about same username.

And this support address then needs forwarded to a ticketing system and when I create a rule in exchange, the system obviously cannot find the support@newdomain.com.

there must be a way to create this

Hi,

If you open the support@newdomain.com account, you can setup forwarding to your support@domain.com.

Don't forget to move over any old emails in that mailbox (if required).

But it won't let me create a  support@newdomain.com. AD says this account has already been setup.
I need to have both of these - support@domain.com and  support@newdomain.com
