Samsung Note 8

http://www.samsung.com/uk/smartphones/galaxy-note8/?cid=uk_email_shop_ss-e66-sep2a-sim12085_aid34_20170914_1g-cta-hero-note8&sci=109085541&listid=1370&thcampaignid=12085&thid=6493423E54C0E99C96E57FB11ADD263A&m_i=XWcYEZyTgtxY%2BynmFK4kDQY2iD7Lo25EfeFkqf7NS6Bs80Ryyu5ggPgLdl5TcgIDHwGXDkQs77KdCB5u7AI9Hg9kmwoUX3&jumpto=shop

I'm confused with the above.  Is there just one type of Samsung Note 8 i.e. are they all dual sim compatible?  because the above web site does not explain the different between the two options and on Amazon people are selling the dual sim versions for over GBP 1000 where is the single sim is GBP 800.

If you look more precisely, you will see there are two models. One is Samsung Note 8 and the other is Samsung Note 8 Dual-SIM and they are selling at the same price in Samsung UK website. But Samsung Note 8 Dual-SIM is out of stock.

So, Dual-SIM model is more popular or less stock and it demands a higher price in other online stores.

Price is the results of supply vs demand, the first lesson in Economics.

I understand that, but when both models are priced the same on the Samsung web site it doesnt help.  I just assumed it was a sim tray that differs between the two versions as I have bought a Note 8 from amazon and having used it for a few days not realising it was not a dual sim version.
Unlocked dual-SIM Galaxy Note 8 pre-orders live in the UK

ADNAN F. / 4 WEEKS AGO
Samsung fans in the United Kingdom can now pre-order an unlocked dual-SIM Galaxy Note 8 directly from the company. The company and its carrier partners have also started taking pre-orders for the locked, single-SIM version.

The unlocked dual-SIM Galaxy Note 8 bears model number SM-N950FZKDBTU. It’s the 64GB model and is available in Midnight Black and Maple Gold colors from Samsung’s online store. While previous reports had suggested that the Galaxy Note 8 would cost more than £900 in the UK, the actual price is slightly lower.

The unlocked dual-SIM Galaxy Note 8 has been priced at £869. It’s now the most expensive smartphone that Samsung has ever released in the country. The price is the same for the unlocked single-SIM variant of the Galaxy Note 8.

All pre-order customers will receive a free DeX station from Samsung as a pre-order incentive. The company expects to ship orders by September 14 in the country.

Samsung’s retail and carrier partners like Carphone Warehouse, Vodafone, O2, iD Mobile and EE have also started taking pre-orders for the handset. Monthly prices range from £38 per month to £59.99 per month, depending on the carrier.

Check with your desired carrier or retailer to find out more about the prices that they’re charging for Samsung’s new flagship smartphone.

Your new Note 8 model number is N950FZKDBTU? You can go to Settings -> About phone to check the model number.

Actually, you can only find whether your Note 8 is a Dual-SIM model or not by looking at its SIM trays. The external appearance is the same for both models and only the internal components / circuit are different.

The SIM trays are normally two trays with one of them which has a marking of SIM 2 / microSD for a Dual-SIM model whereas you will only see two dedicated slots and there is a marking of microSD in one of the slots for a Single-SIM model.

microSD, up to 256 GB (dedicated slot) - single-SIM model
microSD, up to 256 GB (uses SIM 2 slot) - dual-SIM model

I'm going to return this phone back to Amazon because the same phone but with dual sim is cheaper on other web sites by some £200.
What I dont understand is this.  Samsung tells me that the model of the dual sim is SM-950FZDDBTU is the official version for the UK retailing at £869 but some online web sites are selling SM-N950FD for £641.

What is the difference between these slight model number differences as they are the same phone except for the colour?
