Mkiso might be what you are looking for to create a structure that can be burnt on cd/DVD.

Are you looking at software that will burn cd/DVD?
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/CdDvd/Burning Check which are installed/available on your system.

Arnold: Yes, I want to go to the url for the mint-linux OS and burn a copy of the iso to disc.  Currently, I run ubuntu-linux and I just want to try another FREE OS.
Do you have the application referenced in the link installed? You have downloaded the ISO from linux-mint?
Are you trying to burn from the command line or in graphical mode?
Arnold: Either command line or graphical is fine but I'll need more help with the command line because I don't know the unix commad.  Give me the command and I can open  a terminal window and type it.  I can use the graphical one too, but I don't know the program name.
