Yes he will have to import his photos; but, any changes he saved will be in the new catalog.

Hi, my good friend (honestly) who is a photographer deleted his Lightroom catalog backups from the external hard drive AND emptied the trash on his iMac. Now when he runs Lightroom, the catalog is from February of this year and it is screwed up. I don't believe the photos have been lost. Is there a way to rebuild the catalog or get it back somehow? &nbsp;Thanks for any help on this.
