why my Buffalo NAS TeraStation 7000 Copying speed is very slow
Hello Friends,
i have Buffalo TeraStation 7000 device. configured 3 of 12 disks Arrays each 4 disk drives
Arry 1 and 2 are RAID5 = copying speed over network is and within drives is 10-12 Mbps Only.
Arry 3 is configured as RAID0 but speed is same 10Mbps
copying speed on other network devices reaches up to 200Mbps but very slow on this even within the gigabit NIC
could you please help.

Thank you... Benjamin,
I have connected my laptop to NAS and got similar results.
to be more sure I connected one USB3.0 2TB hard drive on USB port and tried copying files vice-versa but got similar results.
Like, copying speed is between 10-12 Mbps.
I also tried a different type of media to copy but ..... no improvement.

So, the problem seems to be an hardware problem. Maybe your disk is slow but I think the problem is your NAS.
Last test is to extract Hard Drive to your NAS and to test speed transfer on an other NAS.

Are you sure your TeraStation is operating à 1Gbits/s ? Maybe your NAS is operatingat 100Mbits/s only. Check it on NAS interface or on your switch.
