Recover Deleted files by Robocopy

I used Robocopy to sysnc some files from an old file server, but unfortunately it somehow over wrote newer files by the old files and also deleted any new files. Not sure what went wrong and we don;t have a good backup of the files. The files are are on  a virtual drive of a Hyper-v server. There are no shadow- copies as well. Is there a way to recover these files with some third party software or any way ? The server is 2016 and the hyper-v is also 2016.

Does the software used have a feature that allows you to revert the changes you've made?  If you have no backups, no VSCs or generally no access to those files as they were.. you might be in a pinch. Now, that's not to say you can't recover them, but you may have to turn to a recovery service.

We are welling to pay for this or buy  a software, but I don't know if there are any options at this point. I know you can send out drives to recovery but not sure if you can do that for deleted files on a Virtual disk????
That would be up to the service you contact. You would be amazed what recovery teams can do these days. Some of them don't even need the physical drives anymore, they just do it all remotely. As to recovering from a virtual environment, I'm not sure. Your best option is to do some looking around for a recovery service near you, or one that comes highly rated, give them a call and just ask. They'll either say yes, which is great, or they'll say no.

Well, the virtual disk is already gone if I'm understanding what he originally stated. The issue isn't in file deletion, but in data that has already been overwritten.

@OP I think what we're going to need here is a little further information. Can you still access the VM or is it gone completely?
