How do you place a shortcut on the taskbar?

I often have 5 or 6 spreadsheets open and need to access one or more 1Drive directories, all which are represented by shortcuts on my desktop. While I worked efficiently (?) with a browser, Excel, a pdf reader, Word and other programs on the taskbar, the only way to get to the 1Drive\dir\dir shortcuts is to minimize one or more spreadsheets. Is there a way to place a shortcut on the desktop?

I know very little about scripting languages but I suppose you could do something in creating a script which becomes an executable file, but outside my league.
