Excel 2016 font changes in cell when I reopen document.

I have tried this on 3 different computers with Excel 2016 (Office 365 edition), with the same results.  This does not happen in Excel 2010 though.

1). I created a new document.
2). enter in any cell the following text: "this is a test                                      please make better"
3). Enable "Wrap Text"
4). Change font from Calibri 12 to Ariel 8, and bold the cell.
5). Save it. Close it.  Reopen it.  All looks good...
6). I make the 2nd line "please make this better" any color using Font Color tool.
7). Save it.  Reopen it, and now the 2nd line is Calibri 12, unbolded.  First line remains correct.  See images.

See my attached images, for a better idea.

I cant figure out what the heck is going on and why this didnt happen on the Excel 2010 instance I have, only 2016.

I have not seen that on any Excel 2016 machine (numerous).

Open the file, make the change, and now Save As with a new name. Does the new document come out OK?

Just tried and same thing happens on when I do Save as and make a new name.

Also, saving in .xls and .xlsx

I've tried it on 3 computers which are in different domain/environments/geographic locations.  One of which is a fresh install, so no plugins are in play as well.
Are you right up to date with Office Updates?  I have never seen this.

Are the files on a server or local. Try the above with a local file.
Thanks for your fast responses.

Local.  New document too.  Latest updates.  My user that saw it only noticed when we just updated them to Office 365 and Excel 2016.  She bolds and colorizes the font as she goes along. And once we upgraded her from 2010, she showed me the issue.  I replicated it at my home and my office computer.

If you have not already, could you try it on your machine by creating a new document and using my steps.  It just seems really weird that It happens on the 3 workstations I've tired but not you.

Also, all 3 test workstation are Excel 32 bit and running on windows 10.

Thanks
I did and just as you said. My default font is Times and I changed to Arial, saved it and it came back correctly.

Make sure you are using a standard (not some special) Style.

I am using Office 2016 32-bit on Windows 10 Pro 64-bit

Note:  I have two such machines and tested on both.
Cell Style is listed as Normal.

I screen captured the event using SnagIt and attached it here.

If this were a major Excel bug it would have hit the news.

I would report it to Microsoft Support, ask them to remote in and look at your machine.

Also do one test with your Anti Virus disabled temporarily.
Hi,

Perhaps it is something they used to test. Try with different wording, try adding ' in front of the sentence, try running it as previous version, try running as administration, try checking out some default settings (auto formating). Make sure no one in the IT department is not having fun ;)

Good luck,
Lyubo
