How to get VM to see a RD1000 drive in VMware ESXi 6.5
I'm setting a new Dell PowerEdge T430 server that came pre-loaded with VMware ESXi 6.5. It has an internal RD1000 removable drive bay. My plans are to use the RD1000 with (5) removable 1TB cartridges to do backups on. Is it possible for the RD1000 to show up as a drive in a Windows 10 VM? If so how?

It is an internal Power Vault RD1000 which is SATA. Not USB.

After consulting with Dell Tech Support - they did confirm the RD1000 will not pass through and the Dell sales person should not have recommended it in a VMware configuration. So I will now remove VMware and install Microsoft HyperV and see if that HyperV VMs will see the RD1000 as removable media to be used for backups.
it may be possible to connect it to a VM, see my EE Article
