How can I get Centos 6.9 to use HyperV 2012 R2 Virtual Network Adapter

The Centos guest was a package designed for hyper-v, but apparently the Centos doesn't recognize the virtual network adapter.  There is no int0.  I've hunted around for solutions, and this seems fairly common for Centos and Hyper-V, and solutions have ranged from manually setting up the config files to installing Microsoft Integration Services (apparently MS doesn't have a package for this particular version of Centos), but I've had no luck with any of the solutions I've found.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

I know this is already accepted but CentOS 6.9 should have the Integration Services support out of the box. So in theory a synthetic NIC should work. You may have a corrupt image or a custom one?

As it turns out, I was able to get 6.9 to work without the legacy adapter.
