Bare metal boot VHDX from bitlockered device (W10)?
Hi,
I need to bitlocker my W10 but have a VHDX on it to which I boot (mounted VHDX, added it to start menu) sometimes (different W10).
How can I bitocker the W10 AND still boot my VHDX which is on this bitlockered disk WITHOUT creating a different partition?
J.

Honestly, I would believe that "it just works". You can simply boot your VHDX and encrypt it and see what happens. Even if it went wrong, you can unencrypt it from the main windows installation. Take good care of your recovery key, though.

It does not work, otherwise I would not have posted the question.

You cannot bitlocker a drive, add a vhdx to it, mount it then bare metal boot from this vhdx (which is on blockers device).

I confirmed what found out. But still, there is another workaround:
Boot you real OS and temporarily suspend bitlocker before you reboot into your 2nd, vhdx based OS. This works as well.
