Epson WF-4630 FAX Utility Windows 10
When I try to FAX from my PC using the Epson FAX Utility in Windows 10, I hear the phone go busy before the FAX number is finished dialing.
Conversely, I can FAX from the Epson WF-4630 control panel just fine.
This is my home office & the printer is connected via the network. I run the FAX utility "Check FAX Connection" & it shows everything is fine. Unchecking "Dial Tone Detection" doesn't seem to do anything. Epson software update doesn't show any updates other than the unrelated "Epson Connect", "E-Web Print".
The phone line is VOIP (T-Mobile Line Link) & I don't need to dial anything to get out.
I am confused why FAX from the printer would work but not the Windows software. They both use the same settings.

Jackie, I use Windows 10 64 bit. I already downloaded the files from Epson link you provided. I can install the Drivers and Utilities Combo Package but the firmware upgrade shows the printer as downgraded - update not available.

I updated to the latest FAX Utility but it didn't make any difference. Strange that their latest Utilities & drivers didn't install the latest version. Even worse that their software updater said everything was up to date,
Epson Fax Utility v2.24.00
Epson Fax Utility v2.24.00

I uninstalled everything associated with Epson (10-12 apps), restarted PC & installed their combination Utilities & drivers which is supposed to be everything you need.
This time I checked the versions to see if it was the latest offered on the support page. I was not surprised to find the FAX Utility installed with their combination Utilities & drivers was an older version so I installed the recommended version.
I was surprised to find some versions of other software installed with their combination Utilities & drivers was older while some was newer than the recommended version. I installed newer versions where I could. Perhaps the software that gets installed on the printer is key. I always tell the installation that it's an existing printer so it doesn't try to setup the device.
I also tried to install the recommended BIOS but it is apparently a lower version than mine. Epson support didn't seem concerned.
I have not tried using a USB cable yet.
Note the trick to finding version on the FAX Utility and some of their other software is to click the Epson logo.
