SNMP Monitoring of Windows Services on Hyper-V Virtual Machine
Hi,
I'm trying to find a simple, free or low cost solution to allow us to monitor the status of certain windows services, disk space remaining and Memory Remaining.
Is there a tried and tested agent that we can run on the virtual server to get this info?
Thanks

Hi,
Thanks for your responses. I should add that I have the central SNMP management tool but need an agent to run on the Server to make these values readable. I don't think the inbuilt SNMP service in Windows gives this data.
I'll take a look at PRTG to see if there's an agent i can deploy to my VM that makes the monitoring points available to me SNMP manager.

Based on what you asked, the values are readable by PRTG without an agent. We do this on all our servers, Windows or Linux. However I also know we use a mix of SNMP and WMI for Windows. But remote probes can be installed.
