But I have a Windows8.1 KB2999226-x64 MUS package file for a standalone update. While trying to run this, even after a few hours it sill searches . But in another VM ( with same Windows server) &nbsp;the update is done in a few minutes . Does it mean my first VM need to get some change?

the reason you are getting the prompt on websites is that IE Security is enabled. This is the default since Windows Server 2003

I have a virtual machine with Windows 2012 R2 Datacenter with Windows key activated ( created by someone else atleast one year before). It looks like windows update was never done and &nbsp;when I try to update it does not happen even after kept for &nbsp;10 hours. &nbsp; <br />
Internet looks fine ( But I get the popup for adding site to exception when I visit a site)<br />
